K2 Security Screening Group has announced the appointment of Donald Cosner as Project Manager. In this role, Don will lead the planning, installation, and integration of passenger and checked baggage screening systems at some of the largest and busiest airports in the U.S.
Don brings over 25 years of senior leadership experience in aviation security and airline operations, including a distinguished career with the Transportation Security Administration. Most recently, he served as Deputy Federal Security Director in Tampa (TPA), where he led a team of 1,000+ federal and private officers and project managers.
Don also spearheaded checkpoint and baggage expansion projects at multiple Florida airports, including TPA, which was recently named the top airport in North America for the second consecutive year. Before that, Don was Assistant Federal Security Director of Screening for the State of Colorado, overseeing 1,200+ security professionals at 14 airports, including Denver International (DEN), the 4th busiest airport in the U.S.
Earlier in his career, Don oversaw customer service operations at AirTran Airways’ corporate HQ in Atlanta (ATL), focusing on regulatory compliance, ground security, and training. Under his leadership, the airline achieved one of the lowest mishandled luggage ratios and highest customer service ratings in the nation.
